There is a new development in the online delivery of learning in Imus City.

The City government of Imus, headed by City Mayor Emmanuel L.  Maliksi with Vice- Mayor Arnel Cantimbuhan launched the project BIDA I-KonEK Mo- Bayanihang Imuseño, Damayang Areglado,  Imus Konektado sa Edukasyong Makabago at Imus National High School Covered Court on August 28.

I-KonEk Mo is the response of Imus City to the demands of “new normal education”. This is made to ensure the continuity of learning for the kabataang Imuseno through provision of free subscription to internet connection supplied by Converge ICT Solutions.

The City Government through Converge ICT Solutions, Inc. will provide free Wi-Fi connections to communities so that students can access the internet and attend online classes or do other school-related online activities while internet connectivity in schools will also be strengthened.

Schools Division Superintendent of Imus City, Dr. Rosemarie D. Torres said in her welcome remarks that the Schools Division of Imus City is very fortunate because Imus City has government officials who truly care.

Dr. Torres likewise extended her appreciation and gratitude for all the provisions that the city government extended to the Division like complete sets of desktop computers, transistor radios laptops for principals and school heads, COVID-19 equipment and supplies grant, duplicating machines and 35K budget for reproduction of modules.

Dr. Wilfredo E. Cabral, the Region IV-A CALABARZON DepEd Director mentioned in his message that the I-KonEK Mo project is a brilliant idea of making education work during the time of pandemic.

Dr. Cabral also conveyed that the DepEd is doing more work to cater to the needs of all the kinds of learners including the learners with special needs while providing teachers not only the skills they need to cope with the new normal but also providing psycho-social sustenance.

The launching highlighted the mayor’s presentation of his three important projects to solve the challenges of the new normal education- the installation of stronger internet connectivity in schools as part of Brigada Eskwela, the internet connectivity in the community through provision of routers and modems in the houses of learners in the barangays and the Eskwela Kooperatiba computer loan packages.

Mayor Maliksi wanted to ensure that no one learner in Imus City will be deprived of quality education that is why he is doing his best to make education available to all through his legacy projects.
