A Culture of Academic Excellence and Discipline
The Presidential Communication Operation Office (PCOO) team headed by Edrian M. Ostulano, segment producer of PCOO, visited Imus National High School (INHS) on January 22, to document the school’s hybrid program implementation during the pandemic.
The PCOO, through the Office of the Global Media and Public Affairs, has launched the Laging Handa Dokyu, a series of experiential and informational short documentaries highlighting the lives of healthcare workers and other frontliners, as well as the efforts of the government in combating COVID-19 (pcoo.gov.ph). Schools and teachers are considered frontliners. Thus, INHS was recommended.
The recommendation for INHS to be featured in PCOO Laging Handa Program at PTV 4, the flagship network of the Philippines, came from the DepEd Region IV-A Director, Dr. Wilfredo E. Cabral and DepEd Usec. Diosdado M. San Antonio.
Arturo P. Rosaroso, INHS Principal, and the INHS School Heads welcomed, the team at his office. Mr. Rosaroso briefed the team on what was going to happen during the visit: introduction of INHS, tour to the all subjects virtual education studio (VES), witnessing actual online teaching, and visit of select modular students for interview.
In the introduction of INHS, Mr. Rosaroso mentioned the hybrid learning modality adapted by the school , school population, students’ development program, school facilities, school based- projects, Local Government Unit (LGU) - supported projects, local and international academic recognitions received by INHS students, and recognitions and commendations awarded to INHS.
Mayor Emmanuel L. Maliksi, Imus Mayor, and Ivan Brian L. Inductivo, Assistant Schools Division Superintendent of Imus, graced the event also. Mayor Maliksi shared a few more proofs of how the LGU shows support to public schools like INHS. Among the education assistance extended by the LGU to INHS faculty and students were laptops, radio with built-in microphones, tablets, SIM cards, flash drives to name a few.
To complete the documentation for PCOO Laging Handa, two faculty members namely Mrs. Carmille Jam S. Lim, Science teacher, and Mr. Brandon L Parreńas, English teacher, and two students from Grade 7 namely Eunice Iora R. Lacopia and Elaiza Marie C. Encienzo were interviewed.
